Aquila chrysaetos, or the golden eagle proud and majestic to say the least. I will never forget the first time I saw a golden in the wild feeding on a deer carcas along the highway in eastern Oregon. It was so big and powerful looking it took my breath away and I have been captivated by them ever since. I was blessed to have been able to photograph this bird in the west end of the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone in May of 2009.

Mt Hood one of Oregons most recognized land marks in late August as the sun begins to set. Even without a blanket of snow the mountain is so beautiful as it is illuminated by the alpenglow of the setting summer sun.
