Aquila chrysaetos, or the golden eagle proud and majestic to say the least. I will never forget the first time I saw a golden in the wild feeding on a deer carcas along the highway in eastern Oregon. It was so big and powerful looking it took my breath away and I have been captivated by them ever since. I was blessed to have been able to photograph this bird in the west end of the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone in May of 2009.
