Too Cute
The Columbia white-tailed deer, listed as a protected species back in 1967 and placed on the endangered species list in 1978 when the act was passed by congress. This species of deer exists in only three places on the planet, along the lower Columbia River in Oregon and Washington and in the Umpqua river basin in southern Oregon. This image was made at the Julia Butler Hansen White-tail deer refuge in southwest Washington. Just look at that face, is that not the most precious look you have seen? Is this critter not worth saving? It is moments like this that I live for and I urge all who may view this and the other images on this site to please do what you can to help this and other animals have a place to live and grow. This means live in as low an impact as you can, donate or become a member of your local friends of whatever wildlife refuge is near your home or groups like the Nature Conservancey or the National Wildlife Federation or any other group or organization dedicated to preserving and enhanceing wildlife habitat.
